Norman, Vicki, George, Crystal, John, and granddaughters Irene and Edith Garton are proud to welcome you to our Angus female sale at Green Springs Tested Bull Sale. We started Garton Angus in 1971 as a small family operation and in1973 started using artificial insemination and keeping records with AHIR. We collect our top-producing cows for embryo transfer and have done so since 1981. Cows in this sale have been bred for fertility and maternal qualities. Since 1999, we have sent bulls to Green Springs Bull Test, Nevada, Mo. and have had high-indexing and high-selling bulls. For several years George and Crystal have sold the highest-selling bulls at Green Springs to producers in Nebraska, Montana, and Oklahoma. While improving our bull selection using performance data, we have also collected detailed carcass information through 20 years of sending homeraised steers to MO Steer Feed Out through the University of MO Extension. Our steers have been top in profitability and daily gain, and have received Premiums for carcasses that were either Prime, Certified Angus Beef, or Yield Grade 2’s. Norman is a past director on Missouri, American, and Certified Angus Beef Boards. A family operation, Garton Angus is happy to offer cattle with growth and top quality carcass traits that will work well for both commercial and registered cattle producers.
